Non-Destructive Testing

At AQ Steel, we prioritize the integrity of our welds through thorough Non-Destructive Testing, in accordance with industry standards from Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom/European Union, and Canada.

Our NDT procedures include:

Report Transparency

Our commitment to transparency is reflected in our comprehensive reports, covering successful tests, failed test reports, and subsequent retest reports, ensuring our valued customers are informed about testing outcomes.

Magnetic Particle Testing

We apply this testing method to Fillet Welds, Partial Penetration Butt Welds (PJP), and PJP repair welds, providing necessary documentation for weld failure reports.

NDT of Welds

  • 100% NDT for any splices in the web or flange (Magnetic Particle Testing and Ultrasonic Testing).
  • 10% NDT for web to flange welds.
  • Magnetic Particle Testing for all welds, complemented by Ultrasonic Testing for elements greater than 10mm.

Ultrasonic Testing

We use this testing approach for Full Penetration Butt Welds (CJP) and CJP repair welds, and we submit weld failure reports as needed, demonstrating our dedication to customer satisfaction.

Our commitment to quality and safety is exemplified through meticulous NDT processes, ensuring weld integrity and compliance with the highest industry standards.
